Car rental aggregating sites aren't new, but this one's worth keeping an eye on. KISS (keep it simple, stupid) seems to be the philosophy of Oodles, which is easy to drive, uncluttered and user-friendly. It uses a search facility and a precise sorting option on the results page.
You can't keep a good man down. Melbourne's former rental car King Mario Salvo is back in the industry he knows and loves so well. Mario built up Delta car rentals from 100 second hand card in 1988 to 5000 new cars in 2000 before backing the company into the Europcar franchise. He sold out of that business in late 2004 to a management-private equity buyout and left to try his hand at property development and other business interests through The First Delta Group.
"Car rental is in my blood though" said Mario, who is now associated with car rental comparison and booking website Oodles.com.
"This time I haven't had to buy a single car but I've got a fleet of 50,000 cars," said Mario. "Instead of the driver seat, I'm now in the passenger seat!". The site allows customers to compare rental car rates and make bookings from the five major rental brands at more than 700 Australia locations.
Oodles.com is an easy-to-use self-booking tool which compares - on one screen -- the live Internet rates for 10 rental car classes of Australia's five major car rental brands at over 700 locations across Australia.
